Maurizio Biancarelli has been a nature photographer for over thirty years. He has worked as a professional for about 20 years and is part of the Nikon NPS team of photographers.

His reportages have been published in some of the finest Italian and International photography magazines including National Geographic Italia, Bell’Italia, Bell’Europa, BBC Wildlife, Roots, NaturFoto, Terre Sauvage, Terra, Meridiani Montagne, In Viaggio, and Qui Touring.

He has published eight photo books and is the author of the texts of six of these books. His photos have received awards from important International competitions such as Wildlife Photographer of the Year, GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year. He was member of the jury for the International competition Asferico, Bio Photo Contest, and GDT European Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

He has had several solo exhibitions both in Italy and abroad, as well as many presentations in Photo Festivals both in Italy and abroad.

He has taken part in two important collective photography projects: Wild Wonders of Europe (www.wild-wonders.com) and, more recently, L’Altroversante (www.laltroversante.com) dedicated to the Italian mountain landscape.

His goal is to use photography to tell interesting stories about subjects in nature. By taking advantage of the extraordinary power of engagement that images have, he aims to contribute to a further knowledge of the natural world and help the public gain awareness of its importance and vulnerability.
